The List

When I sat down to write my list for Month of Good, I thought about what outcome I wanted. What I realized is, ultimately, I want to be healthy, feel good about myself, connect with my family and friends, and be creative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic. Since it's hard to achieve those goals as they stand, I had to be much more specific.

Here's what I came up with:

  1. Follow Weight Watchers perfectly. I don't have to weigh in, but I must keep a log and stay within the boundaries.
  2. Yoga twice a week.
  3. Gym twice a week.
  4. Get eight hours of sleep a night.
  5. Brush Bliss every week.
  6. Drink three bottles of water a day.
  7. Floss.
  8. Meals are made at home five nights a week, with leftovers (if not nasty) brought to work as lunch. Friday nights are for order in.
  9. Do something charitable. I get to choose what that means.
  10. Emails from family/friends are returned within 48 hours (this doesn't count messages sent through Twitter, Facebook, etc. This is for honest-to-goodness emails).
  11. Hand-written thank-you notes are sent 48 hours after receiving a gift. Not that I expect to receive any gifts this month, but still.
  12. Cards are sent one week before events.
  13. Designated "Keri" household areas picked up nightly.
  14. Do one thing at work per week that is not in my job description.
  15. Regular calls to family and friends (I have a schedule written elsewhere).
  16. Accordion practice 30 minutes a night.
  17. Family stuff once a week. This is dedicated time for the three of us to do something. Movie, outing, Rock Band, whatever.
  18. Keri & Paul date night once a week.
  19. Update Dog Bliss blog five times a week. Disneyland Finds daily. This blog daily. Video updates three times a week.
