The List
When I sat down to write my list for Month of Good, I thought about what outcome I wanted. What I realized is, ultimately, I want to be healthy, feel good about myself, connect with my family and friends, and be creative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic. Since it's hard to achieve those goals as they stand, I had to be much more specific.
Here's what I came up with:
- Follow Weight Watchers perfectly. I don't have to weigh in, but I must keep a log and stay within the boundaries.
- Yoga twice a week.
- Gym twice a week.
- Get eight hours of sleep a night.
- Brush Bliss every week.
- Drink three bottles of water a day.
- Floss.
- Meals are made at home five nights a week, with leftovers (if not nasty) brought to work as lunch. Friday nights are for order in.
- Do something charitable. I get to choose what that means.
- Emails from family/friends are returned within 48 hours (this doesn't count messages sent through Twitter, Facebook, etc. This is for honest-to-goodness emails).
- Hand-written thank-you notes are sent 48 hours after receiving a gift. Not that I expect to receive any gifts this month, but still.
- Cards are sent one week before events.
- Designated "Keri" household areas picked up nightly.
- Do one thing at work per week that is not in my job description.
- Regular calls to family and friends (I have a schedule written elsewhere).
- Accordion practice 30 minutes a night.
- Family stuff once a week. This is dedicated time for the three of us to do something. Movie, outing, Rock Band, whatever.
- Keri & Paul date night once a week.
- Update Dog Bliss blog five times a week. Disneyland Finds daily. This blog daily. Video updates three times a week.
